The Charleston District's Regulatory team is currently reviewing the proposed project from the South Carolina Department of Transportation to construct 76 miles of highway in the state, known as Interstate 73, which will connect Myrtle Beach to Detroit, Michigan.

The Charleston District is working with the Charleston Harbor Pilots on the final design of the Charleston Harbor Post 45 Deepening Project. The Harbor Pilots are the only ones authorized to guide a container ship into the harbor, so their input is integral to the process.

Michael Glasch is deployed to Afghanistan, serving as the USACE public affairs officer. He doesn't work for USACE normally, so the Charleston District supports him and his family since they live in South Carolina.
