Individual Training

The Air Traffic Control Tower Simulator System, similar to the one pictured, is an innovative training capability used to train Navy and Marine Corps air traffic controllers in a synthetic environment. The 38 simulators will replace the existing Tower Operating Training System (TOTS) as well as provide low-cost proficiency training. (U.S. Navy photo)

Individual Training addresses training programs for individual skills, such as the Landing Signal Officer, Air Traffic Controller and Chief of Naval Air Training. The Individual Training Systems teams provide a full range of training and devices to develop and hone critical abilities.

The Marine Corps Aviation Training team provides state-of the art, platform specific training systems to the warfighter. Platforms supported include the Aviation Distributed Virtual Training Environment, AH-1W Super Cobra/AH-1Z Viper/UH-1Y Venom, AV-8B Harrier, CH-53E Super Stallion/MH-53E Sea Dragon, EA-6B Prowler, KC-130 Hercules and Super Hercules, MV-22 Osprey, VH-3D Sea King/VH-60 White Hawk and RQ-7B Shadow Unmanned Aircraft System.

Navy Fixed Wing Training Systems

Five integrated product teams support Navy fixed wing training systems programs. The teams manage the E-2 Hawkeye/C-2 Greyhound; F/A-18/EA-18G Hornet, Super Hornet and Growler; P-3C Orion; EP-3E Aries; E-6B Mercury and P-8A Poseidon training programs as a learning continuum from concept development to system disposal.

Portable Undersea Training Range (PUTR)

Ocean Systems (OS) Training Ranges provide underwater and communications tracking for various depth levels in support of Anti-submarine Warfare and/or Anti-surface Warfare. The OS training team supports the following ranges: UnderSea Warfare Training Range (USWTR), Barking Sands Underwater Range Expansion (BSURE), Barking Sands Tactical Underwater Range (BARSTUR), Portable Undersea Training Range (PUTR), Southern California Antisubmarine Warfare Range (SOAR) and Southern California Offshore Range (SCORE).

The TTR training team supports the Tactical Combat Training System, Large Area Tracking Range and Electronic Warfare/Threat Presentation.

The Shadow RQ-7B

The Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) training teams provide vital capabilities training supporting MQ-4C Triton UAS, MQ-8B Fire Scout Vertical Take-Off and Landing Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (VTUAV), RQ-21A Blackjack Small Tactical Unmanned Aircraft System (STUAS), Unmanned Carrier Launched Airborne Surveillance and Strike (UCLASS) and RQ-7B Shadow UAS. Each team is specialized in training and readiness requirements for their platform.
