The Savannah District Real Estate Division buys, manages and sells land for both military and federal government use. The diverse workload spans a broad spectrum from management of recreational lake areas and timber harvesting to leasing military recruitment stations. It also includes land acquisition and property management overseas.

Current Leasing/Acquisition Opportunities

The Corps acquires licenses, permits, and all types of interests in land from easements to leases, to total ownership in rural, urban, improved and unimproved land, to real property exchanges (RPX) for the Army Reserves. We provide a full range of real estate services including surveys, maps, title work, appraisals, negotiations and closings. We also work closely with the U.S. Department of Justice to acquire real property through eminent domain proceedings.

Current Acquisition Opportunities:

Real Property Exchange (RPX) - Cranston U.S. Army Reserve Center (USARC), Cranston, RI

The Army Reserve is soliciting interested parties for the purpose of a Real Property Exchange (RPX) of Army Reserve land and facilities located at the Cranston U.S. Army Reserve Center (USARC), 1 Narragansett Street, Cranston, Rhode Island (Site 1) and the Fort Nathaniel Greene USARC, 970 Point Judith Road, Narragansett, Rhode Island (Site 2) under the authority of 10 USC, Section 18240 (extract attached). The Cranston USARC (Site 1) consists of approximately 19.97+ acres of land, improved with a two-story 68,904 square foot reserve center, a steel framed masonry 4,704 square foot service shop, and two ancillary storage buildings containing approximately 10,500 square feet. There is paved parking, with 325 spots, and a perimeter fence. The site has good access from Narragansett Street and abuts the Providence River. All utilities are available at the site. The Fort Nathaniel Greene USARC (Site 2) consists of 103± acres, improved with a 12,754 square foot office/admin building, a 7,200 square foot storage facility, paved parking, and perimeter fencing. The property also includes an earth covered gun battery, originally built for World War II, located on the interior portion of the site. Of the 103± acres, only about 10 acres are attributable for development. The remaining acreage is in a flood zone and made up of wetlands, which is available for passive recreational use. All utilities are available at the site.
