Linda Hales is chief of the Office of Contracting in the San Francisco District. 

Prior to her current position, Hales served as the construction contracts team leader and contracting officer in the Corps’ Sacramento District.

Born in Shreveport, Louisiana, she joined the United States Air Force in 1974 and served until her retirement in 1994.  Her assignments took her to Keesler Air Force Base in Mississppi; Croughton Air Force Base in England; Rhein Mein Air Force Base in Germany; Ellsworth Air Force Base in South Dakota; as well as McClellan and Norton Air Force Bases in California.

Hale earned a Bachelor of Business degree from National University - Sacramento, a Bachelor of Communications & Technology degree from the University of Maryland - South Dakota and began work in Chapman University’s Master of Business Administration Program.  She is a graduate of the Army Management Staff College.

Her awards and decorations include the Air Force Meritorious Service Medal, the Air Force Commendation Medal with three oak leaf clusters, and Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year for the Air Force Communications Command.
