News from Naval Station Everett
Oct 14 2016

Naval Station Everett will conduct a security
exercise on Wednesday, October 19. Navy personnel and others who regularly
access the base should expect gate closures and possible traffic delays between
9:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer
USS Sampson (DDG 102) is scheduled to arrive at its new homeport of Naval
Station Everett, Sept. 26.
 


Sep 14 2016

Naval Station Everett will conduct a security exercise on Tuesday, Sept. 20. Emergency response personnel will exercise procedures for a simulated active shooter attack.


Although there will be no gate closures for this exercise, the drill scenario will include simulated gun shots using blank rounds and emergency response vehicles. No real ammunition will be used.


The Navy designs such training exercises to improve readiness in preparation for possible real emergencies or disasters.

Naval Station Everett’s main gate will be open again for
normal vehicle and pedestrian access starting on Saturday, Sept. 3 at 6 a.m.
Construction on the gate started in late May and is now complete.

The United States Navy Band Country Current, country-bluegrass ensemble is giving a free performance for the Everett community on Friday, Sept. 2 at the Everett Performing Arts Center.


The concert will start at 6:30 p.m. Tickets will be issued in person by the Everett Performing Arts Center at no cost. Seating is first come, first serve (unclaimed tickets are released 15 minutes before the show). To inquire about tickets, call (425) 257-8600.
