The below listing includes restrictions that apply to Soldiers, civilians, contractors and command-sponsored dependents stationed in Europe.

Soldiers, civilians, contractors and command-sponsored dependents should always consult their chain of command regarding future leave, liberty or travel plans. Additional travel information regarding requirements and restrictions is available on the Department of Defense's Foreign Clearance Guide, which is only viewable to users on a U.S. government network, or connected via a VPN.

Only restrictions currently in effect are listed on this site. Once a travel restriction has ended, it will be removed. All restrictions to include expired restrictions can be viewed at any time on the Travel Safe Intranet portal, which is only viewable to users on the U.S. Army Europe NIPR network, or connected via a VPN.

Antiterrorism, force protection officials remind community to maintain vigilance

August is Antiterrorism Awareness Month for the U.S. Army, and U.S. Army Europe is hoping to raise awareness of the terrorist threat by following one of the Army's antiterrorism themes for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2016: "Focus on the use of social media for antiterrorism awareness and community outreach," including the risks associated with terrorist use of social media as a propaganda and recruitment tool.

Army in Europe community reminded of need for heightened vigilance

As the holiday period in Europe ends, the public must remain aware and recognize the need to maintain heightened vigilance.

Individuals and small groups directed or inspired by terrorist leaders continue to threaten Western Europe and North America. Terrorists pose a threat to urban centers, large events and transportation hubs, including airports and train stations.

AtHoc Crisis Communication Tool 

AtHoc is a mass-warning notification system that makes it easier for service members, civilian and contractor employees, and family members across Europe to receive emergency warnings and notifications specific to their garrison.

AtHoc alerts users multiple ways through computers pop-ups, voice calls to landline and mobile phones, emails and text messages. AtHoc is able to provide service members and their families instant information from local and theater leadership.

Service members, civilian and contractor employees can register from their work computer, or at one of the following self-registration links from a computer with a CAC-reader.

The Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) is a free service to alert U.S. citizens and nationals abroad of conditions and situations and provide useful information. U.S. European Command (EUCOM) has directed all Department of Defense personnel in Europe to register their assigned location and travel destinations.
