Last week, I had a fantastic visit with the men and women at U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM), Special Operations Command South (SOCSOUTH), and U.S. Marine Corps Forces, South. It was also bittersweet as we bid farewell to outgoing command senior enlisted leader CSM Bill Zaiser. A great leader and a great friend! I look forward to my next visit to SOUTHCOM under the new command senior enlisted leadership of Sgt. Maj. Bryan Zickefoose. #seac3 #bestjobieverhad
Sandra and I had the extreme honor to attend the Armed Forces Farewell Tribute to the President today. What an awesome ceremony honoring our Commander in Chief!
A monumental event happened today as 4 Senior NCOs (1 Army, 2 Air Force, 1 Marine Corps) started the Joint and Combined Warfighting Course at the Joint Forces Staff College. This course has traditionally been geared toward field grade officers. As we look to further develop Senior Enlisted to execute mission command in Joint and multinational environments this course will be critical to that development. Our greatest competitive advantage over any potential adversary is in the human domain and the lengths we go to train, educate, and empower people, especially our Enlisted leaders. Today we further strengthened that advantage! This is a great way to start 2017! #jointforcedevelopment
