Operations and Management

Commander Navy Region Europe, Africa, Southwest Asia (CNREURAFSWA) is the logistics and support arm of U.S. Naval Forces Europe (CNE), also headquartered in Naples, Italy, and is responsible to Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) for administrative installation functions.

These support functions include: Air Operations, Port Operations, Weapons Handling, Logistics, Security and Safety.

The Region also provides support services to Sailors, their families and DoD civilians ranging from career advice to grief counseling and religious programs.

Navy Region Europe, Africa, Southwest Asia is in charge of managing seven installations and coordinating base operating support functions for forces throughout the Region.

These support functions include: Air Operations, Port Operations, Weapons Handling, Logistics, Security and Safety.

Air Operations: Airfields, air traffic control, air terminal support, and additional support necessary for aircraft to operate.

Port Operations: Piers, tugs and additional support for facilitation of ship visits.

Weapons Handling: Storage, replenishment, loading.

Logistics: Everything from food to fuel flows through the base to support and provision the operational forces.

Security and Safety: Fire and emergency services, base police, emergency management.
