9 RW, headquartered at Beale AFB, California, operates and maintains the Air Force's fleet of U-2 and RQ-4 aircraft. The U-2 and RQ-4 aircraft comprise 100% of the Air Force's critical high-altitude ISR capacity. U-2 and RQ-4 Block 30 aircraft provide multi-INT capabilities, while EQ-4 and RQ-4 Block 40 aircraft provide vital communications node and Ground Moving-Target Indicator capabilities. Combined, these aircraft provide 24/7 support across all six geographic CCMDs. Additionally, the 9 RW hosts several tenant units including the 548th Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance Group, the 7th Space Warning Squadron and the 940th Reserve Wing.
