Activities
Cancer Surveillance
We function as BUMED's subject matter expert for Navy Medicine on technical and policy issues related to cancer registries. The Department of the Navy Cancer Surveillance Program directs and monitors cancer data collection by DON cancer registries. It is the primary vehicle for distribution of information on cancer incidence, treatment, and outcomes.
Health Outcomes Research Centers of Excellence
We collaborate with NMCP and Health ResearchTx (HRTX) to improve force readiness, health outcomes, and patient safety. The aim is to lower healthcare costs across the DoD by performing secondary research with the best experts inside and outside the military.
CarePoint 4G
CarePoint* provides access to several health applications, including the Military Health System Population Health Portal. The portal transforms medical and administrative data into patient-level information. This allows clinical staff to make data-driven decisions regarding clinical preventive services, case and disease management, and clinical quality improvement.

Population Health Navigator (PHN) Dashboard
We ensure the quality and validity of the reported data in the Population Health Navigator (PHN) Dashboard and provide expertise in the interpretation of patient population data. MTFs can use the dashboard to manage the health of enrolled patient populations and evaluate performance results.
