NMCPHC launched the Diabetes Resource and Collaboration Hub (DRCH), an online community that promotes collaboration and resource sharing, connects diabetes educators to existing resources, and facilitates communication among the Navy and Marine Corps Public Health Center (NMCPHC), Navy diabetes educators, and others across the Military Health System.

Trainings are 30 minutes in length and are offered at 0900ET, 1500ET, and 1700ET. You'll learn about influenza vaccine, influenza reporting, the DOD laboratory-based sentinal surveillance program, and Service specific surveillance programs and strategies. 21 August 2015Attention Diabetes Educators! The Military Families Learning Network is hosting a webinar on 25 August entitled, “New Medications for Type 2 Diabetes." Presenter Curtis L. Triplett, PharmD, CDE of the UT Health Science Center at San Antonio, will discuss which type 2 diabetes medications are most effective and will introduce the newest medications available on the market today. One hour CE will be provided for RDNs.

Attention Diabetes Health Professionals and Health Educators: Earn 18.25 hours of Continuing Medical Education (CME) and Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) credits while learning to improve diabetes mellitus control at your medical treatment facilities (MTFs)!
The Air Force Diabetes Center of Excellence (AF DCOE) is hosting its semi-annual Diabetes Champion Course that focuses on training primary care staff in all MTFs to better manage patients with diabetes. The program is based on a team approach that includes providers/MD, nurses, and technicians. Primary care teams are encouraged to attend together. During the course, participants will develop and present a plan to implement clinical practice guidelines in the treatment of patients with diabetes, thus improving patient, provider, and MTF outcomes.
The Diabetes Champion Course will be held on 9-11 September 2015, join in-person at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, TX or virtually via DCS. Check out

NMCPHC Health Promotion and Wellness Department will be hosting a webinar, "DoD's Efforts to Increase Fruit and Vegetable Consumption" on Wednesday, 29 July 2015, from 1200-1300 EST in support of Fruits and Vegetables Month. This webinar will discuss the DoD's efforts to increase fruit and vegetable consumption.

NMCPHC has launched an initiative to help diabetes educators, health educators, and clinicians across the MHS who are interested in diabetes self-management to gather best practices and lessons learned on diabetes prevention and control. This effort will allow health educators to focus more time on serving patients and less on building and maintaining their diabetes self-management programs.
NMCPHC will host a webinar led by guest speaker, Dr. Tom Sauerwein, Director of the Air Force Diabetes Center of Excellence (AF DCOE) entitled, “Air Force DCOE Diabetes Central Overview" to help diabetes and health educators and clinicians learn more about online educational resources offered via AF DCOE Diabetes Central Click here.
Diabetes Central is a CAC-enabled website that contains dozens of patient and provider education materials, trainings, and assessment tools.
