Privacy Program
The privacy of an individual is a personal and fundamental right that shall be respected and protected.
Mission
The Department of Defense Office of Inspector General (DoD OIG) Privacy Office administers the Privacy program for the DoD OIG. The mission of the Privacy Office is to minimize the impact on an individual’s privacy and personal information while achieving the mission of the DoD IG. The Privacy Office serves as the steward of the Privacy Act of 1974 and the numerous laws, Executive Orders, court decisions and policies that govern and protect the collection, use, and disclosure of personal and DoD information.
