BURUNDI (November 26, 2007) -- Dr. Pamphile Nkurunziza, Burundi Division surgeon, and U.S. Air Force Major Craig McCluer, a doctor with the 52nd Aerospace Medicine Squadron out of Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany, examine a patient at Gakumbu military base. McCluer was part of a U.S. military team sent to Burundi to provide optometry and eye care to two battalions from Burundi preparing to deploy on a peacekeeping mission to Somalia. The U.S. medical team saw 1,597 patients in Burundi.
