OFFICE OF THE JUDGE ADVOCATE GENERAL (OTJAG) TRAINING

The Army pioneered within DoD the use of Special Victim Prosecutors (SVPs); Judge Advocates who focus on prosecution of sexual assault cases. Selection to serve as SVPs is based on Judge Advocate skills and expertise in the courtroom. Prior to assuming SVP duty, the Judge Advocates complete:

• 80-hour Career Prosecutor Course at the National District Attorneys Association
• 40-hour Special Victim Prosecutor Conference
• 80-hour on-the-job training with a designated Civilian District Attorney's Office, Special Victims Unit
