The DISN Test & Evaluation service is designed to provide a black IP transport capability to the DoD T&E community leveraging the DISN Backbone for WAN connectivity. The DISN T&E service is a first step in the evolution of the DISA’s Testing as a Service (TaaS) concept by providing a converged IP infrastructure that supports T&E using the worldwide DISN core optical infrastructure.
The DISN T&E service rides the DISN Test and Evaluation Network (DTEN). DISN T&E service is hosted as a Layer 3 VPN (L3VPN) across the DISN Internet Protocol (IP) core, providing Black IP transport only service for T&E and Test and Development (T&D) Communities of Interest (COI).
VPN solutions isolate COI as separate enclaves and segregate test traffic from the operational network using Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS), VPN tunnels, network encryption, approved Type I encryption devices, and/or other approved solutions as needed.
Value to Our Mission Partners
The DISN T&E Service provides a “test and train like we fight” joint operational environment to support a variety of T&E Communities of Interest (COI). These COIs have the capability to conduct development, certification and operational T&E activities in an operationally relevant T&E environment.
