Dr. Jennifer Roberts joined DARPA as a program manager in 2015. Her principal research interests include scalable analytics and machine learning algorithms that yield insights to human users. Applications of interest include cyber, genetics and human cognition.
Prior to joining DARPA, Dr. Roberts worked at Aptima and led an intercompany team of data scientists, software developers and cloud experts to create scalable analytics for network defense. Her team's analytics sought to distinguish routine behaviors from suspicious activities and attacks in datasets with billions of events.
Dr. Roberts holds a Ph.D. in computer science and engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she was both a Fannie and John Hertz Foundation Fellow and National Science Foundation Fellow. She holds an M.S. in electrical engineering and computer science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and dual degrees in electrical engineering and computer science from the University of Maryland, College Park.
