Air Force customers and Defense Logistics Agency leaders met to discuss DLA’s continued support to the Air Force at the McNamara Headquarters Complex, Fort Belvoir, Virginia, Oct. 6.

Air Force-DLA Day offers a venue for direct conversation on Air Force-specific programs and initiatives, as well as an opportunity to strengthen partnerships between the agency and one of the military services it supports.

Air Force Gen. Ellen Pawlikowski, commander of the Air Force Materiel Command, and DLA Director Air Force Lt. Gen. Andy Busch welcomed the participants but wasted no time before diving into the day’s agenda.

Beginning with service representatives, the Air Force Office of Logistics, Engineering & Force Protection briefed on centralization efforts. The Air Force Sustainment Center then spoke on several of its initiatives. Air Force Materiel Command delivered a weapon system support program update as well as discussion on the DLA Information Technology Reutilization Study.

DLA experts from across the agency’s primary-level field activities and headquarters offices briefed on a number of subjects, to include support to the nuclear enterprise, distribution processes, commercial aviation fuel, audit readiness and updates to online ordering systems.

The status of number of action items from the previous Air Force-DLA Day were addressed, with discussions during the afternoon generating new topics to work toward.
