A Head for the Future
Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center created A Head for the Future initiative to raise awareness and lower the risk of concussion. The campaign offers information about the signs, symptoms, and treatment of brain injuries and educates service members and veterans about how to prevent them.

Project Valour-IT
Project Valour-IT provides voice-controlled laptops and personal GPS systems to service members recovering from hand wounds and other severe injuries including TBI and PTSD. A sub-program, coordinated with Survivor Outreach Services, will soon begin providing laptops to spouses of fallen warriors who return to school.

The Home Base Program
The Home Base Program is a partnership between the Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital. The program is dedicated to improving the lives of veterans of the Afghanistan and Iraq wars who are suffering from deployment-related post-traumatic stress disorder or traumatic brain injury. The program has multiple components, including clinical care, family support, research, education and community outreach, which are available to residents of New England.

Paws and Effect
Paws and Effect, a nonprofit organization based in Iowa, raises and trains service dogs and places them with military veterans with combat service related issues such as TBI, PTSD, physical injury and special needs. Foster families raise and train the puppies until it's time for placement with their new owner, a combat veteran.
