Our Mission:

The Eighth Army Wightman NCO Academy's mission is to train prospective and newly promoted Sergeants in basic leadership skills, NCO duties, responsibilities and authority. Train Republic of Korea personnel to augment the Eighth Army units with ROKA Soldiers in order to increase the ROK/US combined defense capability on the Korean peninsula, during war and peacetime. Train NCOs, Officers, and Civilians on how to prepare and present a quality training session.

The course provides definitions, terminology, and instructional methods used to present instruction in accordance with Total Army Instructor Training Course POI. On order, transition to Reserve KATUSA integration and reception station in order to receive, fit and train KATUSA Soldiers in the inactive status in order to supply replacements across the Eighth Army footprint during wartime missions.

  • The Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Program reinforces the Army's commitment to eliminate incidents of sexual assault through a comprehensive policy that centers on awareness and prevention, training and education, victim advocacy, response, reporting, and accountability. Army policy promotes sensitive care and confidential reporting for victims of sexual assault and accountability for those who commit these crimes.
