The National Geospatial-lntelligence Agency (NGA) Office of Protective Services (OPS) has established a requirement to procure Police Patrol Rifles to replace the currently issued submachine gun. It has been determined that a patrol rifle provides a more flexible weapon system than the current submachine gun. A patrol rifle allows for longer range engagement
while reducing probability of stray rounds, over penetration, and unintended damage or injury to property and personnel.
