WASHINGTON (NNS) — The Naval Sea System Command will host a cybersecurity industry day at the Washington Navy Yard to provide industry with information on cybersecurity-related contracting opportunities for various NAVSEA and Program Executive Offices, Oct. 30.
Attending cybersecurity businesses will hear from NAVSEA leadership, cybersecurity managers and contracting experts from NAVSEA and five Program Executive Offices. The forum will address challenges in protecting data — monitoring, detection and containment of external and internal threats.
NAVSEA and the Program Executive Offices work in many different environments, from enterprise-wide networks to stand-alone systems such as industrial plant equipment. Systems range from non-real time non-deterministic, such as business systems, to virtual training systems, to real-time, deterministic systems such as combat and weapon systems.
The forum will also address other systems within that spectrum: control systems; hull, mechanical & electrical systems; navigation systems; interior communications systems; as well as those for maintenance; and Research, Development, Test and Evaluation.
The day will include program briefings and break-out sessions that will allow businesses to speak face-to-face with NAVSEA program, contracting and cybersecurity managers.
Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. with briefings sessions running from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Additionally, booths manned by program office and cybersecurity subject matter experts will be available throughout the day to answer any specific questions.

Attendance is limited to two representatives from each business, and participants will be selected on a first come, first serve basis, based on when security clearance information is received.
Businesses interested in attending must make an email request to: NSSC_CS_Industry_Day@navy.mil. The requests must include the company name; the names, phone numbers and email addresses of up to two representatives requesting to attend the event; and a brief description of the company's areas of expertise.
Because of security screening requirements, this email request does not grant attendance. A reply email will provide details on how to submit necessary security documents. Once received and reviewed, NAVSEA will email each applicant a "CSID Participant Package" or a "Regret" notification.
Parking on the Navy Yard is not available, and attendees are reminded that the government will not reimburse participants for any expenses associated with travel or participation in this event.
