This VPN service provides mission partners the ability to connect to the Internet Protocol (IP) Transport-Provider Edge (IPT-PE) router or Unclassified Provider Edge (UPE) router and provides a “CMNT” Layer 3 VPN for the CENTRIXS and other operational networks that may be required to support operations to include the internet, specialized networks. CMNT implements a common transport for encrypted traffic up to classified data. This VPN service is available at any DSS location.
As a transport service, CMNT VPN can provide other DISN services that must be ordered separately (i.e. World Wide Web, Unclassified but Sensitive Internet Protocol Network (NIPRNet) or Secret IP Network (SIPRNet), etc.). This is a restricted access service and all requests to connect to this service will be verified and approved by DISA. CMNT Service VPN ID is: DKL342000. DDOE will assign this VPN ID to all mission partners requesting CMNT Service.
Value to Our Mission Partners
The CMNT COI provides a distinct and common transport for Combined Enterprise Regional Information Exchange System (CENTRIXS) and other coalition operational networks into the existing DoD general service communications infrastructure. This requirement supports DoD Instruction 8110.01 guidance of integrating CENTRIXS and other operational Mission-Partner networks into existing DoD general service communications infrastructure as separate networks servicing all DoD Mission Partner information sharing requirements.
