Naval Small Craft Instruction and Technical Training School is a Department of Navy schoolhouse operating under the United States Special Operations Command. Operating across harbors, rivers, bays and coastal areas, NAVSCIATTS conducts all phases of small craft maritime security training required to defend high-value assets and critical maritime infrastructure.
Maintenance training provides a critical layer of technical expertise required to conduct small craft operations to include Outboard Motors, Diesel Engines and Technical Welding and Applied Repairs.
Leadership is a core component of our commitment to the “Train-the-Trainer” model and helps foster an understanding of Rule of Law and Human Rights from a military perspective.
Offering world-class riverine and coastal training areas, NAVSCIATTS is located on the Mississippi coast 55 miles (72 kilometers) northeast of New Orleans, Louisiana.

Because of the intensive nature of our training programs, students are asked to immerse themselves completely in the program curriculum and other programs event. Free time activities include both the Field Studies Program and the Student Welcome Program.

Partner Nation Instructors (PNI) are Senior Enlisted (E7-E9) or Junior Officers (O2-O3) nominated by their own countries to serve one or two years at NAVSCIATTS as a guest instructor. PNI’s benefit from this opportunity both through gaining instructor training qualifications, leadership skill development and working with a highly professional team that trains Foreign Security Force students from around the world.
