2015 Tennessee Valley BEST Robotics: Decatur-Austin Robotics Coalition (DARC) Exhibit Booth

 

  • Boosting Engineering, Science, and Technology (BEST) Robotics is a middle school and high school robotics competition with a mission to engage and excite students about engineering, science, and technology as well as inspire them to pursue careers in these fields. Learn more.
  • Department of Defense (DoD) For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST) Robotics Grant, endowed by the DoD STEM Development Office, provides financial support to FIRST Robotics teams coached or mentored by DoD personnel. FIRST is a non-profit organization that organizes four robotics leagues to engage K-12 students in exciting, mentor-based research and robotics after-school programs, with guidance and sponsorship from professionals at science and technology-based organizations. Each year, more than 500 DoD-sponsored teams compete in competitions that inspire innovation and build leadership skills. Learn more.
  • Department of Defense (DoD) Science, Mathematics, and Research for Transformation (SMART) scholarship program pays tuition and provides key internships for students in community colleges up to the doctoral degree level. For every year of supported study, SMART scholars serve one year as a paid employee at the sponsoring DoD organization. The program is open to all U.S. citizens. Learn more.
