A geothermal wellfield was sized for 100% of the building load for the Sustainment Brigade Administrative Facility, Fort Campbell, KY. The wellfield consists of 69 boreholes, each with a depth of 415 feet. The facility is 30,900 square feet with air handlers and variable air volume (VAV) boxes with hot water reheat served by water-to-water heat pumps. The project is designed for 36.97% energy cost savings from ASHRAE 90.1-2007 baseline and 49.68% energy consumption savings from ASHRAE 90.1-2007 baseline without process loads. The facility is designed to achieve LEED Gold Certification.
