CREDO SE Mission:

To provide a program of retreats enabling military members and their families throughout Navy Region Southeast to develop personal and spiritual resources in order to be more successful at meeting the unique challenges of military life.

History:

CREDO began in 1971 as "Chaplain's Response to the Emerging Drug Order" to confront the use of drugs by Sailors and Marines. CREDO evolved into a retreat ministry that is applicable to a broad spectrum of people seeking personal and spiritual development. The name became the Chaplain's Religious Enrichment Development Operation.

Philosophy:

Our program is distinctly spiritual and builds trust by facilitating an experience of unconditional acceptance resulting in a heightened sense of personal responsibility, and a deeper commitment to community.

Individuals are encouraged to share only that with which they feel comfortable. They define their goals, and move at their pace. CREDO invites reflection, but does not attempt to "fix" people or "force" anyone to work on perceived issues. Instead, we affirm each person as a unique creation of God with value and significance.

CREDO Southeast offers Family Enrichment Retreats, Marriage Enrichment Retreats, Personal Resiliency Retreats, and Spiritual Growth Retreats, to all qualifying service members and their families.
