When Coverage Begins
When your coverage begins is based on who you are and when you submit your enrollment application to your regional contractor.
Active Duty Service Members
Your coverage begins on the day your application is received.
All Others
As long as your regional contractor receives your completed enrollment application by the 20th of the month, your coverage will begin on the first day of the next month. The application must be received by the 20th of the month, not postmarked by the 20th of the month. If the form is received after the 20th of the month, then coverage begins on the first day of the second month following receipt of your application. See the table below for start dates.
