DoDI 8500.01, Cybersecurity

Policy

This Instruction reissues and renames DoD Directive (DoDD) 8500.01E as a DoD Instruction (DoDI) pursuant to the authority in DoDD 5144.02 to establish a DoD cybersecurity program to protect and defend DoD information and information technology (IT).

DoD/Veterans Affairs (VA) Sharing Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)

Policy

This MOU establishes a framework governing inter-Departmental transfer of PIII/PHI of beneficiaries who receive health care and/or other benefits from either Department. This MOU revises the MOU on "Defining Data-Sharing Between the Departments," executed in May and June of 2005.

DoDI 8510.01, Risk Management Framework (RMF) for DoD Information Technology (IT)

Policy

This Instruction reissues and renames DoD Instruction (DoDI) 8510.01 in accordance with the authority in DoD Directive (DoDD) 5144.02. It also establishes the RMF for DoD IT (referred to in this Instruction as “the RMF”), establishing associated cybersecurity policy, and assigning responsibilities for executing and maintaining the RMF.

Army MEDCOM Regulation 40-59: Standardization of Inpatient Falls Risk Assessment and Documentation Falls Prevention Program

Policy

This regulation directs standardized implementation of endorsed evidence-based falls risk assessment tools: the Johns Hopkins Hospital Fall Risk Assessment© (adult) and the Miami Children’s Hospital’s Humpty Dumpty Scale© (pediatric). In addition, this regulation requires incorporation of falls assessment documentation into the inpatient (Essentris) electronic medical record (EMR).

Procedures on Responsibility of Dispensing Prescriptions at MTF Pharmacies 14-004

Policy

This memorandum clarifies procedures relating to Health Affairs Policy 04-032, "TRICARE Pharmacy Benefit Program Formulary Management," dated December 22, 2004, which remains in effect. Specifically, this memorandum is addressed to all military treatment facility (MTF) providers and pharmacies. It revalidates the requirement for MTFs to provide medications prescribed by MTF providers and restates procedures for obtaining 3rd tier (Nonformulary) and compounded medications for patients treated at MTFs.

Army MEDCOM Regulation 40-48: Fires Associated with the Performance of Surgical Procedures

Policy

The purpose of this regulation is to provide policy and recommendations that will help ensure minimal risk of fires associated with the performance of surgical procedures in any healthcare setting to include, but not limited to, the following: operating room (OR), office-based, ambulatory surgery, and intensive care unit type.
