Acquisition Process
Three processes cooperate to deliver capabilities needed by warfighters: the requirements process (JCIDS); the acquisition process (DAS); and the program and budget development process (PPBE). Includes links to DoD and Service policies, guidance, tools, and resources:
Policy
Encyclopedic source of acquisition policy that follows a hierarchy of policy issuance (i.e., executive, legislative, federal, etc.) and filtered according to organization, career field, and special topics.
Communitiesof Practice
Links to communities of practice and special interest areas, the latest contribution and discussion posts for open ACC communities, community highlights, and links to related communities.
Training andContinuous Learning
Information on training and continuous learning that supports DoD acquisition, information that helps manage professional training portfolios, and information on training available from DAU and DoD and Services activities.

DoD International Acquisition and Exportability (IA&E) efforts with allied and friendly nations are based on two fundamental principles:
a) DoD acquisition activities with other nations – which are an integral element of the U.S. Government’s national security and defense relationships -- increase their national and coalition operational effectiveness.
b) Other nations’ participation DoD research, science and technology, acquisition programs result in both direct and indirect cost savings, markedly enhancing U.S. and partner nation affordability throughout the life-cycle.
International acquisition activities are conducted by military and civilian personnel in all DoD acquisition workforce career fields. USD(AT&L) created the International Acquisition Career Path (IACP) in 2007 to provide education and training to the acquisition workforce as well as other DoD and industry personnel in this area. DAU’s Defense Systems Management College International Department (DSMC-I) is responsible for developing and delivering IACP resident and distance learning courses and continuous learning modules as well as providing IA&E knowledge sharing and mission assistance support to the DoD acquisition enterprise.
