The 335th Signal Command (Theater) has Army Reserve signal and cyber soldiers assigned to units throughout the states of Georgia, South Carolina, Florida, Virginia, Maryland, Massachussets, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Missouri, Texas, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado and California.

Near the end of the Korean War, the 335th Signal Command (Theater) was constituted at Atlanta, Ga., February 13th, 1953 and activated two weeks later as a Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 335th Signal Group under the Third Army (later redesignated as Third United States Army).  The original staff consisted of 69 Soldiers under the command of a colonel.

A change in the Army’s structure upgraded the 335th to a brigade in October 1984; the unit insignia and crest were adopted a short time later.

In April 1996, the 335th became a Theater Communications Command. As the 20th century came to an end, the 335th was elevated to a major command as a result of Army Reserve restructuring initiatives.

After Sept. 11, 2001, the 335th deployed as a forward element at Camp Doha and Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, in the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility. The command has had an enduring presence in Southwest Asia since November 2001.

In 2006, the 335th was designated as both an Operational and Functional Command.

The primary mission of the 335th Signal Command (Theater) remains the planning, engineering, installation, maintenance, and defense of the Army’s portion of the Global Information Grid in Southwest Asia.

Since 2009, the 335th and its subordinate chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) units have participated in the joint civilian training exercise, Red Dragon.
Red Dragon simulates CBRN attacks on the civilian population and creates a unique training environment for civilian and military forces to react and respond.

October 1, 2015 brought another major reorganization to the 335th SC(T). All of the CBRN units were realigned under the 76th Operational Response Command, based in Salt Lake City, Utah. The 335th gained the Army Reserve Cyber Operations Group, and the Army Reserve Elements of Cyber Command, Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), and 1st Information Operations Command.
