2016 U.S. Army Reserve NCO and Soldier of the Year 
Best Warrior 2016

The Army Reserve’s best will compete for the title of Best Warrior at Fort Bragg, N.C., May 1-7, 2016. This is the second year the competition will be held at Fort Bragg, N.C..

Approximately 40-45 Soldiers will spend the week competing in a variety of challenges including firing weapons, land navigation, the Army Physical Fitness Test, and various mystery events.

The two winners of the Army Reserve’s Soldier and NCO of the Year and will compete against winners from the major Army commands in October at Fort Lee, Va.

Many of the competitors military backgrounds and experience cover the entire spectrum of the Army Reserve, with many of them having deployed to Afghanistan, Iraq or Kuwait.

Their career fields include military police, engineering, medical, human resources and intelligence. They hail from all across the country.

October 14, 2016 - It was the final obstacle in a series of competitions that began many months ago. Twenty Soldiers from 10 Army commands underwent a grueling series of tests in the Best Warrior Competition last week at Fort A.P. Hill, Virginia.
October 14, 2016 - For the second year in a row, a U.S. Army Reserve noncommissioned officer was named the 2016 Army Best Warrior NCO of the Year.

Each year, the unit receives the best warriors from their subordinate brigades with the goal to identify who will represent the unit at the 79th Sustainment Support Command Best Warrior Competition.

October 15, 2015 - Staff Sgt. Andrew Fink, assigned to the U.S. Army Reserve Command, has been named the Army's noncommissioned officer, or NCO, of the year while Spc. Jared R. Tansley, assigned to U.S. Army Europe, has been named Soldier of the year.
