From the military services and around the DoD, here’s your Daily SITREP for Thursday, Aug. 25, 2016:
- Airdrops conducted by the Air Force and Army are meticulously planned for months. Now, both services are looking to increase the amount of airdrops to ensure their airmen and soldiers are battle ready.
- According to U.S. Army Surgeon General Lt. Gen. Nadja Y. West, survival rates are improving significantly for soldiers wounded in combat.
- Reserve Marines and sailors recently participated in Exercise Global Medic for their 2016 annual training at Fort McCoy. The training mirrors what they might see in a combat zone.
- The 1,053 midshipmen of the U.S. Naval Academy Class of 2018 celebrated their commitment to five years of active service after graduation at the annual Commitment Dinner Aug. 23.
- Great story about sailors and a World War II veteran in California. Hooyah!
