Naval Sea Systems Command

Welcome

Welcome to the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility.  We are responsible and accountable for the material readiness of O.U.R. (Ownership, Urgency, Results) ships and submarines homeported in Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, responding as needed to all points within the Navy’s global reach.

Our people are our strength, dedicated and committed to DEFEND OUR NATION. Every person, every day, contributes to fleet readiness.

Our actions as an organization align with the needs of the Navy, and reflect the principles and disciplines of a Learning Organization.

Our personal and professional behavior embraces the Navy’s core values of honor, courage and commitment, and personifies the sense of pride and spirit of "aloha" of the great state of Hawaii.

Our diversity is a force multiplier.

Our shipyard is a safe, professional work environment where everyone is valued, everyone is treated with respect and everyone contributes to the mission.

The principles of fairness are self-evident.

Last night Rear Adm. Stephen Williamson, our Pacific Fleet Maintenance Officer, was promoted to the rank of Rear Admiral (lower half) on the ceremonial deck of the USS MISSOURI. Fittingly, the No Ka Oi Shipyard provided the backdrop for this well-deserved promotion.

The USS Olympia (SSN 717) Project Team and Code 300 Operations Officer Capt. Kai Torkelson planted the Shipyard's second yelling tree next to Building 167 on June 24 in commemoration of completing Olympia's Dry Dock Restricted Availability which began in 2015 and completed in May. The yelling tree comes from a Soloman Islands legend where yelling kills the spirit of a tree. The planted yelling tree symbolizes the spirit of teamwork and to find ways to avoid yelling at one another over frustration which envitably is bound to occur during an availability. The USS Greeneville (SSN 772) Project Team planted the Shipyard's first yelling tree in June 2015 after completing its DSRA.
