Executive Director, Combatants Office​​, Program Executive Office, Ships



Ms. AndersonMs. Anderson is currently serving as the Executive Director for Combatants in Program Executive Office Ships (PEO Ships), where she provides executive leadership to more than $46 billion in complex, new construction shipbuilding programs defining the 21st century surface combatant fleet. Her responsibilities span multiple major program offices including: DDG 1000, DDG 51, Electric Ships Office, and Ships Acquisition Management. As the Executive Director, she oversees a staff of approximately 150 civilian and 15 military personnel.

Prior to this position, Ms. Anderson served as Executive Director for Surface Warfare (SEA 21B) within the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) where her duties encompassed fleet support for the Navy’s surface combatant, amphibious, auxiliary, and mine warfare ships. She also led the Navy’s inactive ships, foreign military sales fleet support, and ship transfer programs, a portfolio of $15 billion.

Ms. Anderson entered the Senior Executive Service in 2009. Her previous assignment was as Major Program Manager for the Auxiliary Ships, Small Boats and Craft Program Office (PMS 325) in PEO Ships. Prior to her PM assignment, Ms. Anderson served as the PMS 325 Deputy Program Manager. During her time in PMS 325, Ms. Anderson was responsible for the acquisition of the T-AKE Lewis and Clark Class of Dry Cargo/Ammunition ships, the Joint High Speed Vessel, the Maritime Prepositioning Force (Future), special mission ships, and small boats and craft, for both USN and FMS customers. The PMS 325 portfolio of programs totaled over $13 billion across the FYDP. Ms. Anderson was a leader in establishing the Program Management Competency at NAVSEA.

Ms. Anderson has served as the Deputy Program Manager for Surface Combatants (PMS400FB), and one year as Acting Program Manager. In this capacity, she was responsible for the modernization and lifecycle support of all Navy Surface Combatant ship classes and an overall program budget exceeding $1.5 billion across the FYDP. Programs included DDG, CG, and FFG Modernization; as well as Fleet Introduction and logistics support of DDG 51 class ships. Ms. Anderson was a leader in the implementation of SHIPMAIN, Multi-Ship Multi-Option repair contracts, and innovative Planning Yard strategies.

Prior to her DPM assignment, Ms. Anderson served as Director of Business Operations for Program Executive Office Theater Surface Combatants.

Ms. Anderson began her career in the Aegis Program Office serving as a Combat Systems Engineer, after she completed her internship at Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren.

Ms Anderson is a member of the Acquisition Professional Community and certified Level III in Program Management, Systems Planning, Research, Development and Engineering, and Business Financial Management. She is a recipient of the Superior Civilian Service Award. She received a bachelor’s of science degree in industrial engineering in 1990 from Tennessee Technological University and a master’s degree in public administration from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 1998.
