A team of 15 Marines and sailors trained with their Gabonese counterparts from the Agence Nationale des Parcs Nationaux and the Gabonese military and Gendarmerie to demonstrate tactics that could then be applied to combat all types of illicit activities, to include narcotics trafficking

More than 40 medical practitioners and experts came together at U.S. Africa Command Event Center to discuss how to better cultivate and leverage partnership during the Command Surgeon’s Conference conducted at the U.S. Army Garrison Stuttgart, Germany at Kelley Barracks, July 15-17, 2014. The three-day annual conference, organized by the AFRICOM Command Surgeon’s Office, brought together representatives from the command’s component and sub-unified commands, Department of State, and for the first time, European partners which included members from France and Germany and two organizations from the Netherlands.

Marines and sailors from Special-Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force Africa 14 completed a partnership exercise in Gabon, June 28.

The open water was rough, but so were the commandos. The boats were rigid, but so was their desire to complete the training. The Commandos are Senegalese, from the Compagnie de Fusilier Marine Commandos, and took part in a six-week long training mission with a group of U.S. Marines throughout April and May, 2014.
