Born and raised near Dallas, Texas, Capt. Keith Hash graduated from the United States Naval Academy receiving a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Engineering and a commission as an ensign in May 1994. He reported for flight training at Naval Air Station (NAS) Pensacola, Florida, in October 1994, and earned his naval flight officer wings at Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron (VAW) 120 in Norfolk, Virginia, in March 1996.

He reported to VAW-121, known as the “Bluetails,” at Naval Station Norfolk in January 1997. With the Bluetails he deployed twice to Puerto Rico to execute counter-narcotics operations in the Caribbean and deployed on USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74) for her maiden, “around the world” deployment supporting Operation Southern Watch in Iraq.

Selected for the Navy Test Pilot School Cooperative Program, Hash attended Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, California, from September 1999 to May 2001 and Naval Test Pilot School (TPS), Patuxent River, Maryland, from June 2001 to June 2002. He graduated as the TPS Honor Graduate for Class 121, receiving a Master of Science in Aeronautical Engineering. In August 2002, he reported to Air Test and Evaluation Squadron (VX) 20 in Patuxent River, Maryland, as a project officer leading teams of military and civilians in executing developmental test programs for numerous projects to include the USG-3A Cooperative Engagement Capability and the ALQ-217 Electronic Support Measures for the E-2C Hawkeye 2000 aircraft.

In October 2005, he reported as a department head to VAW-125, in Norfolk, Virginia. As the maintenance officer for the “Tigertails,” he deployed aboard USS Eisenhower (CVN 69) in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.

In November 2007, Hash was assigned to Commander Naval Air Forces, Atlantic, serving as the E-2 and C-2 class desk officer, under the Director of Aircraft Material and Engineering, responsible for inventory management, engineering changes and logistics support of all fleet E-2C and C-2A aircraft.

In July 2010, he reported to VAW-123 serving as the executive officer during the 2011 deployment aboard USS Enterprise (CVN 65) in support of Operations New Dawn and Enduring Freedom. He became the commanding officer of VAW-123 in October 2011 and led the “Screwtops” during a 2012 deployment aboard USS Enterprise in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

In January 2013, Hash reported to the E-2/C-2 Airborne Tactical Data System Program Office (PMA-231) under Program Executive Office for Tactical Aircraft to serve as the E-2D Mission Systems Integrated Product Team lead. Hash assumed the role as PMA-231 Development and Production lead in July 2013. Hash became the program manager for PMA-231 in May 2016.

Hash has accumulated over 3,000 flight hours in 18 different aircraft types. His decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Air Medal (two Strike/Flight awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and various individual and unit awards.
