Mr. James Balocki

Chief Executive Officer

Mr. James B. Balocki was selected to the Senior Executive Service in July 2009.  He is currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer, Office of the Chief of Army Reserve, Fort Bragg, NC.  He exercises oversight for the command’s 12,000 civilian employees and manages acquisition, information technology, installation operations and services, and military construction support for the 200,000-strong command.
 
Previously he served as Chief, Interagency and International Services Division, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Washington, D.C., where he was responsible for engineering, scientific and technical support to foreign governments; combatant commands and embassies; federal, state and local government agencies; and national and international non-governmental organizations.  
 
Before this he served as Director, Joint Programs Integration Office, Headquarters, U.S. Forces – Afghanistan in Kabul, responsible for the U.S. and NATO construction program to establish Afghan National Army and Police forces.  He also coordinated efforts of the Department of Defense, State Department, U.S. Agency for International Development, and the Government of Afghanistan to achieve strategic security and development goals.
 
Previously, Mr. Balocki served as the Chief, Environmental Community of Practice, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Washington, D.C., overseeing the full range of environmental programs accomplished by 1,500 environmental professionals worldwide.
