Tonia Russell has a Master’s degree in Human Relations and previously taught high school English. Tonia serves as the PEER Support Coordinator for Region 1, which includes MD, DE, MA, NY and NJ.  As a military spouse, mother, and daughter, Tonia has worked with military families for more than 20 years.  Tonia has assisted more than 50 caregivers and helped with multiple resources for various needs.  As a caregiver herself, Tonia feels that it is an honor to serve other caregivers in her region and give them a voice. Tonia also runs a food pantry that serves active duty service members, Veterans, and military families in her local area.

Dexter Peggins (Region 2)

Dexter Peggins is a U.S. Army veteran who prior to joining WCP worked as a hospital chaplain. For over a year Dexter has served as the Peer Support Coordinator (PSC) for region 2, and he supports the caregiver population in Georgia, Florida, and Puerto Rico. While serving as a Peer Support Coordinator, Dexter has assisted over 100 active and transitioning caregivers. He has aided caregivers in the process of finding the needed resources that would enable them to best serve their wounded, ill, and injured service member. Dexter’s commitment to service and dedication to the caregiver community in which he serves, has allowed him to make meaningful connections throughout the region.

Glenn Romano is the PEER Support Coordinator for Region 3 which covers South Texas, Mississippi, Louisiana and Arkansas. Glenn has been a dedicated provider of social services care for 15 years.  He has been assisting military families achieve a better quality of life for the last 6 years. Glenn is well informed of the services and programs available to military families at the installations he serves. He prides himself on not only being a key resource of each installation, but also knowledgeable of the surrounding area as well.  Within his region Glenn has provided information and referrals for health care services, financial services, transition assistance and education and employment guidance.

Dallas Nelson holds a Master’s degree in Community Counseling and has worked with transitioning military families for 4 years. She is a spouse of a medically retired Army Staff Sergeant. With personal experience as a military caregiver, and medical transition out of the military, Dallas is able to identify with those she helps and supports. Dallas is the Peer Support Coordinator for Region 4 that expands from AL, KY, MO, IL, KS, IA, MN, and SD. Dallas has provided numerous services and referrals to many caregivers within Region 4; all of which have had a positive impact on the successful transition and support for military caregivers and their families.

Cara Coleman (Region 5)

REGION 5 – East/West Central

Cara Coleman is an Active Duty Spouse with 12 years of experience in resourcing, program management, behavioral health and family services.  She is currently working on a PhD in Therapy with Military Families, and has degrees in Psychology and Business.  Cara is the PEER Support Coordinator (PSC) for the Rocky Mountain and Great Lake areas, encompassing the states of CO, IN, MI, NE, OH, WI & WY, a position she’s held since December of 2014.  Over the course of her time as a PSC, she has assisted over 100 caregivers with resources and local area happenings, built a network of over 300 POCs, and raised awareness of caregiver concerns throughout the region.  To date, Cara has identified ways to bridge gaps in services throughout Region 5 to support military caregivers and provide superior services to the wounded, ill and injured community.

Sabrina Russell (Region 6)

Sabrina Russell
REGION 6 – Southwest

Sabrina Russell is a retired Hospital Corpsman Chief Petty Officer and a veteran of both Operation Iraqi and Enduring Freedom. She has an Associates Degree in Sociology Behavioral Sciences from San Diego City College and a Bachelor’s in Science for Domestic Security Management/Homeland Security from National University.  She is currently in her Master’s program majoring in Human Behavior at National University.  Sabrina is the PEER Support Coordinator (PSC) for Region 6, covering Utah, California & Hawaii.  Sabrina has personally assisted more than 50 active duty military caregivers.   She has identified needs and barriers within her region, and successfully implemented three new PEER Forums at various installations. Sabrina’s aggressive and passionate style enables her to identify caregiver needs and assist caregivers during anytime of need.

Jamela Davis is an active duty military spouse of 18 years and has a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education. She is the Peer Support Coordinator for Region 7, which includes North Texas, Arizona and Oklahoma. Jamela has personally assisted and supported numerous caregivers of wounded, ill and injured Service members by providing resources in finance, education and employment. Through her efforts, she is able elaborate on the range of challenges that impact caregivers and their families on a daily basis.

Max Dolan (Region 9)

Max Dolan
REGION 9 – Mid-Atlantic
PEER Support Coordinator (Contractor)
Max Dolan is retired from the US Army and has degrees in Law Enforcement, Management and MIS.  He is the PEER Support Coordinator for Region 9, which includes North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Georgia. Max has personally assisted over 100 caregivers with referrals for resources. He has developed a network of approximately 500 stakeholders across the four states that he supports. He is unique in that he has a long history of providing services that includes vocational rehabilitation employment counseling, many years of experience as a training center instructor and director, and VA benefits counseling.

Michele Adkins (Region 10)

REGION 10 – Northwest
PEER Support Coordinator (Contractor)
Michele Adkins is the PEER Support Coordinator for Region 10 which includes Washington, Alaska, Oregon, Montana, Idaho, Nevada and North Dakota. In her role as PSC, Michele has provided assistance to numerous caregivers with housing, education and lifestyle resources.   Michele is a retired Army NCO that served as a License Practical Nurse. Michele holds an Associate’s Degree in Nursing and a Bachelor’s Degree in Cultural Anthropology. Michele has experience assisting rural caregivers in need of support, and ways to deal with distances between bases and the homes of our wounded and ill service members and their caregivers.
