The Military Families Learning Network provides professional development opportunities, engaged online communities and social learning for professionals who serve the military community.
Concentration areas
The network’s main concentration areas are:
- Personal finance
- Family development (including early intervention)
- Military caregiving (including exceptional family member program)
- Military family lifecycle transition support
- Nutrition and wellness
- Community capacity building
- Network literacy
Each of the concentration areas in the Military Families Learning Network aim to help service providers build and strengthen military families by:
- Providing research-based professional development webinars and resources
- Creating professional networks to connect service providers online and through social media
- Offering continuing education credits for many webinars and online courses
- Keeping service providers updated on new research and resources
Here’s what service providers will find on each concentration area’s website:
- Military Caregiving: Resources in this concentration area help service providers support caregivers, learn about innovative technologies, and understand the unique circumstances of caring for family members, both wounded, sick and injured service members and family members who may have other special needs. @MFLNMC
- Family Development: Family development resources help service providers support military families, assist in family violence prevention and intervention, and provide support to the special needs early intervention programs. @MFLNFD
- Network Literacy: These resources teach service providers about new technologies, new ways of learning and working, and innovative approaches to the Internet. @NetLitTips
- Personal Finance: Personal financial managers and other service providers can access research-driven data and information to expand their professional development and their ability to provide financial guidance to service members and their families. @MFLNPF
- Lifecycle Transition Support: These resources provide support to relocation, deployment and transition staff working with military families dealing with life’s transitions. @MFLNFT
- Nutrition and Wellness: These resources provide support to Department of Defense dieticians and to service providers to help them move from science to practical application and solution-focused behavioral motivation. @MFLNNutrition
- Community Capacity Building: These resources build on the Community Capacity Building curriculum soon to be located on My Training Hub and encourage mobilizing capacity within communities outside installations and in geo-dispersed areas.
