Exercise Rapid Trident 2014 is set to be held Sept. 15-26 in Yavoriv, Ukraine.

Rapid Trident, an annual (pre-planned) exercise that is part of the U.S. European Command's joint exercise program, is designed to help boost interoperability between Ukrainian, US and other allied forces. This year’s exercise will involve command post exercises, patrolling, counter-IED training and a field training exercise. Approximately 1,300 military personnel from 15 nations including Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Canada, Georgia, Germany, Great Britain, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Norway, Poland, Romania, Spain, and the U.S., as well as representatives from NATO, will participate in the exercise.

Members of the media are invited to attend select events during the exercise including an opening ceremony, Sept. 15 and a media day with senior military representatives on Sept. 19. Additionally, media may schedule training site visits Sept. 16 – 24 based on availability.

Media organizations interested in participating must contact Capt. Royal Reff and Mr. Jesse Granger at royal.t.reff.mil@mail.mil and jesse.m.granger.civ@mail.mil, respectively, by Sept. 12, with names, job title/affiliation, telephone numbers and e-mail addresses of staff members who will attend, and be prepared to provide additional credential information for those attendees.
