The Enterprise Voice over Internet Protocol (EVoIP) service provides a centralized and managed session controller with a full complement of unified capability services for use by DoD components. DISA delivers the service offering from the cloud and DoD components can connect to the service using designated hard phones and soft clients validated for placement on the DoD Unified Capabilities (UC) Approved Products List (APL).
This state-of-the-art service, accessible over the NIPRNet infrastructure, will enable DISA mission partners to decommission their legacy Time-Division Multiplexing (TDM) -based voice switch infrastructure and eliminate other costs associated with managing their local voice infrastructure.
Value to Mission Partners
With EVoIP, the DoD services and agencies no longer need to procure, install, operate and maintain TDM legacy equipment at the base/post/camp/station (B/P/C/S) level. Instead, the mission partner can deploy hard phones or soft clients at the site via the DISA-managed and sustained Enterprise Session Controller (ESC).
DISA’s role as a managed service provider for EVoIP removes the need for the mission partner to locally manage disparate VoIP and analog environments within their network.
DISA will also provide network management, provisioning, trouble resolution, tiered incident reporting, problem management, problem resolution, and management of tier III level problems.
