A week after they married, an Air Force Reserve couple attended a Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program training weekend here due to the husband’s upcoming deployment.
Tech. Sgt. Glenn Matsuo and his wife, Rae, were married Sept. 17, 2016,  in Honolulu, near where he serves as an air transportation craftsman in the 48th Aerial Port Squadron air transportation at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam. It was a small ceremony with only a handful of close family and friends in attendance.

If not for the actions of two fast-thinking and well-trained Citizen Airmen, the last Saturday of summer may have ended in tragedy at Clear Lake, California. Capt. Jared Wahleithner and 1st Lt. Chris Dempsey were ferrying passengers to shore Sept. 17, during the annual Clear Lake Seaplane Splash In, when a small amphibious aircraft crashed during an attempted landing.

One Air Force reservist is trying to open up dialogue about a topic that is close to her heart, yet many people are too uncomfortable to discuss: suicide. Master Sgt. Altrameise Myers' teenage son died by suicide in 2012. As the fourth anniversary of his death approaches, Myers is working to raise awareness about suicide and share her story. She hopes to reduce the stigma and get others to discuss this serious subject.
