Quarterdeck Consort
The Quarterdeck Consort is an octet of vocalists drawn from the U.S. Navy Band Sea Chanters Chorus that specialize primarily in early sacred and secular a cappella chamber music. The Sea Chanters have a long-standing tradition of forming small ensembles from the larger group. The Quarterdeck Consort was conceived of and formed by Petty Officer 1st Class Susan Kavinski, who fosters a collaborative musical environment in which all members are encouraged to conduct the ensemble or lead rehearsals. Members include sopranos PO1s Susan Kavinski and Antje Farmer; altos CPO Rachel Sarracco and PO1 Casey Campbell; tenors PO1s Adam Whitman and Dennys Moura, and basses PO1s Michael Webb and Robert Kurth.
