Some say that military children serve alongside their service member parent(s). The Department of Defense (DoD) has celebrated military children during the month of April since 1986, recognizing the contributions and personal sacrifices that military children make.
This month we will focus on the health of the more than 2 million military children in the United States and overseas. We will recognize the important role military children play in helping our soldiers achieve their mission by contributing to the strength of the military family. Specifically, we will look at the various programs the MHS has to improve the health and fitness of military children.
