August 18, 2016 - Safety can often be perceived as a regulatory requirement rather than an adjustable process designed to meet the unique needs of a unit. For the 80th Training Command, one of these unique needs include a safety accreditation requirement certifying that training facilities across the command can teach Soldiers of all three Army components in accordance with the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command’s One Army School System.
August 2, 2016 - The 94th Training Division (Force Sustainment) has a proud lineage as a World War II infantry division and a Regional Support Command. The division was originally intended to be headquartered in Puerto Rico, so it's fitting that nearly 100 years later, the 94th TD welcomed Brig. Gen. Hector Lopez, a native of the island, as its new commander.

Kelly is motivated by the legacy of his grandfather, Thomas B. Harper III, who served with the100th ID during WWII.

March 15, 2016 - Sgt. 1st Class Daniel Aparicio, and Spc. George Weeks, both representing the 94th Training Division, won the 80th Training Command 2016 Best Warrior Competition in the non-commissioned officer and lower enlisted Soldier categories, respectively, March 9-13, 2016.

February 24, 2016 - RICHMOND, Va. - Leaders representing subordinate units from across the Army Reserve’s 80th Training Command met here to participate in three days of Chain of Command training facilitated by the 80th TC’s Family Programs office. COC training is designed to teach each unit’s command team how to implement and oversee a Family Readiness Group.
February 24, 2016 - If a sexual assaulted victim ends up at the emergency room of a Richmond area hospital, chances are the hospital will call a victim advocate affiliated with The Regional Hospital Accompaniment Response Team to help that victim. Thanks to William Downey, the 80th Training Command Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention Program manager, RHART advocates now know that they have the option to refer sexual assault victims who are service members to their unit SHARP offices.
December 10, 2015 - FORT HUNTER LIGGETT, Calif. (Dec. 1, 2015) -- Army Reserve engineers provide critical support to the Total Army mission during deployments and save the Army thousands of dollars through troop projects on installations like Fort Hunter Liggett, or FHL. The 80th Total Army School System, or TASS, Training Center , or 80th TTC, conducts 30 percent of engineer training. Maj. Fernando Lavana, 80th TTC commandant, said its training load will increase in the near future with their new school house, which is expected to be completed in 2016.

November 19, 2015 - A 58-year-old Vietnam veteran, who prefers to be called Wolf, fell on some hard times after a terminal cancer diagnosis caused him to lose his job as an open road truck driver. Wolf wasn't sure where to turn. "No job, no insurance. I suddenly remembered, hey I'm a veteran."
November 13, 2015 - Staff Sgt. Katie Govoni was at a food truck on 4th and Liberty with friends, when at approximately 2 a.m., she heard two women screaming for help. Govoni looked up to see one of the women running across the street narrowly avoiding an oncoming car. She realized that the woman was Melissa Snader whom she’d met briefly for the first time earlier at a popular hot spot called “Fourth Street Live.”
November 7, 2015 - Maj. David Porter and Staff Sgt. Jadrian Whitfield won the 80th Training Command Instructor of the Year competition in the officer and enlisted categories, respectively, at Fort Knox, Ky., Nov. 7, 2015.
October 30, 2015 - Though it’s not unusual for Sgt. Julius Anderson to be away from his family during training, the active Army Soldier stationed at Fort Hood, Texas, appreciated being home at night while he attended the Wheeled Vehicle Recovery Course. Anderson, the 546th Area Support Medical Company motor sergeant, was a student at Regional Training Site Maintenance-Fort Hood in October 2015, where Army Reserve instructors teach the same course as their active duty counterparts at Fort Lee, Virginia.
October 6, 2015 - TUSKEGEE, Ala. - When Maj. Gen. A.C. Roper graduated from high school at age 17, he wrote in his memory book that he wanted to be a police officer, he wanted to join the Army and he wanted to marry a sweet pretty woman who understood him. Today, the 51-year-old Reserve Soldier is the leader of approximately 7,000 Soldiers assigned to the 80th Training Command, and in his civilian capacity he’s the Birmingham, Alabama, police chief.
October 6, 2015 - ALEXANDRIA, Va. - Ten members of the 80th Training Command Teen Council participated in a joint meeting with members of the 412th Theater Engineer Command and the 75th Training Command teen councils in Alexandria, Virginia, July 27-31, 2015. The meeting afforded the 80th TC teens an opportunity to share their ideas, challenges, and best practices with members of the 75th TC and the 412th TEC councils.

June 23, 2015 - FORT KNOX, Ky. - Sgt. 1st Class Raymundo Soto, an All Source Intelligence Analyst senior instructor assigned to 6th Military Intelligence Battalion/95th Regiment, 1st Brigade, 100th Training Division, beat out seven other competitors to win the 80th Training Command (TASS) Instructor of the Year Competition here Oct. 20 and 21.
