CSM Wills, a native of Beckley, WV, enlisted into the U.S. Army in 1984. During his previous 31 years of service, CSM Wills served in a variety of professionally rewarding and developmental positions across the Army in the operating and generating force.

His previous assignments include serving as the Command Sergeant Major of the 80th Training Command; 81st Regional Support Command; G-3/5/7 Sergeant Major of the 84th Training Brigade (Engineer), 102nd Division (MS), 80th Training Command (IT) at Tulsa, OK; Command Sergeant Major of the 1st Battalion (EN), 3rd Brigade (CS), 95th Division (IT) at Fort Leonard Wood, MO; Operations Sergeant Major of the 1st Battalion (EN), 3rd Brigade (CS), 95th Div (IT) at Fort Leonard Wood, MO; First Sergeant of the 955th Engineer Company (Pipeline Construction) at Fort Leonard Wood, MO; Platoon Sergeant of the Engineer Support Platoon, 955th Engineer Company (PC) at Fort Leonard Wood, MO; Battalion Supply NCO of Service Battery, 3rd Battalion, 75th Field Artillery; Cannoneer of Battery C, 3rd Battalion, 75th FA; Heavy Equipment Repairer of 934th Maintenance Detachment at Fort Leonard Wood, MO; Traffic Management Specialist of Directorate of Logistics, Garrison Command, Fort Leonard Wood, MO. Significant deployments and mobilizations include Desert Storm, Southwest Asia, Iraq; Training Base Expansion II, Fort Leonard Wood, MO; and Operation Enduring Freedom Support, Fort Leonard Wood, MO.  

He is currently employed as the CEO of Appalachian Paving & Excavation, LLC; Beckley Asphalt & Aggregate, LLC; and AP&E Properties, LLC - all located in Beckley, WV. CSM Wills is a graduate of Drury University located in Springfield, MO. He holds a Master’s Degree in Education (M.Ed.), BS and AS in English.

He also serves as an Army Reserve Technician as the G-3/7 Staff Operations and Training Officer (SOTO) for the 80th Training Command, Richmond, VA. He is also a lifetime member of the Army Engineer Association, lifetime member of the Association of the United States Army, Society of American Military Engineers, and holds a Master Mason Degree of the Arlington Masonic Lodge, Dixon, Mo.
