DLA Europe & Africa serves as the Defense Logistics Agency's focal point for U.S. European Command and U.S. Africa Command issues. DLA Europe & Africa provides a single DLA interface for those commands’ warfighters, reaching back to other DLA activities in Europe and the continental United States for logistics solutions.

DLA Europe & Africa provides on-site, tailored customer support through its network of warfighter support representatives. Additionally, planners in Stuttgart, Kaiserslautern, Ramstein Air Base, and Heidelberg, Germany; and Naples, Italy, help logisticians at USEUCOM and USAFRICOM and their subordinates plan operations and exercises.

The organization capitalizes on opportunities to assist warfighters in increasing their readiness; provide effective, coordinated, responsive, best-value logistical solutions at less total cost to the Department of Defense; and resolve cross-enterprise issues regarding DLA plans, policy and strategy implementation in the respective area of responsibility. Upon a combatant commander's request, DLA support teams deploy to designated contingency areas.

DLA Europe & Africa’s commander also serves as the agency’s liaison officer to USEUCOM and USAFRICOM.

DLA Europe & Africa’s geographic responsibility includes 55.8 million square miles, covering 103 nations in all of Europe and parts of Africa, Asia and North America. The area extends from 500 miles off the Atlantic coast of the United States to the Pacific coast of Russia and includes two-thirds of the Earth's coastlines, spanning 18 time zones.
