Private LAN service is a way to provide ethernet based multipoint to multipoint communication over the DISN IP MPLS network. Allowing geographically dispersed sites to share an ethernet broadcast domain by connecting sites through pseudo-wires. The LAN at each site is extended to the edge of the DISN. The DISN emulates a switch/bridge to connect all of the mission partner LANs to create a single bridged LAN making routing decisions based on Media Access Control (MAC) ID.
NOTE: Dependent on acquisition and installation of IPT-PE router infrastructure and connection must be on physical interface.
Value to Our Mission Partners
This layer 2 VPN technology allows any-to-any (multipoint) connectivity and provides mission partners the ability to shrink the world to one LAN regardless of location on the globe.
