The Coast Guard Research and Development Center is seeking candidates for summer internships through the Homeland Security Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics program in 2017. Coast Guard Begins Small Unmanned Aircraft System Installation On Cutter Stratton

Coast Guard Accepts Ninth C-27J Spartan

The Coast Guard accepted the service’s ninth regenerated C-27J Spartan medium range surveillance aircraft Sept. 29, 2016. The aircraft was flown to the Leading Edge Aviation Services paint facility in Fort Worth, Texas, Sept. 30, following the regeneration process. U.S. Coast Guard photo.

Acquisition Update: Coast Guard Transfers Two Former Cutters To Georgia

The Coast Guard transferred two decommissioned 110-foot patrol boats to the Georgian coast guard Sept. 30, 2016, at the Coast Guard Yard in Curtis Bay, Maryland. The event marks the Office of International Acquisition’s first transfer of 110s to a friendly nation through the Excess Defense Articles program. Capt. Joseph Uzmann took over as the command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance program manager in June 2016. His 23-year career has prepared him for his new challenge of developing a long-term strategy for the C4ISR program beyond the national security cutter acquisition.
