Position Description (Duty Description)

A. The 48 CS Infrastructure (SCOI) work center will provision, sustain, maintain, and manage network technologies, protocols, and standards required to integrate and sustain airborne and terrestrial information transport systems. These roles include the network and telecommunication infrastructure, distribution media, cryptographic equipment, and associated devices.  The work center delivers seven main capabilities/services: LAN/WAN, Net Integration, Net Encryption, Net Architecture/Configuration Management, Voice/Red Switch, Cable Systems, Systems Control. 

B. Cyberspace Support (AFSC: 3D1XX) required 1 Oct 16 - 30 Sep 17; member will need 183 - 365 enlisted days for PCS to fill position.  The numbers include enough time for local check in/out, establishing local accounts (SIPR, NIPR, etc.) and mission spin up.

C. CAVEATS:  The 48 CS will consider four personnel for 183-day PCS tours or two personnel for 365-day PCS tours.  This opportunity has received FY 17 funding approval.  This tour is considered un-accompanied.  Logistical support procedures for accompanying family members are handled on a case-by-case basis by the USAFE-AFAFRICA Headquarters Squadron Commander.

D. Many ARC members are unfamiliar with differences between PCS and TDY.  In order to be knowledgeable on benefits, entitlements, USERRA rights, etc., applicant should read the USAFE-AFAFRICA/CG PCS checklist for ARC members.  Document is currently under review but POC's below will be able to provide latest version upon request.

E. Items required for application acceptance.

a. Resume with AFSC and qualifications (SF171 not accepted)
b. WING/TAG Acknowledgement letter:  For template letter, see http://www.ang.af.mil/shared/media/document/AFD-131216-001.pdf
c. A favorable US SECRET clearance eligibility prior to arrival.  A NATO SECRET and/or US TOP SECRET clearance is preferred
d. Current Physical Fitness Test (all pages) within past 12 months.  Must be valid for up to 90 days from date of application submittal.  Members called to Title 10 (active duty) are required to participate in the Physical Fitness Program IAW AFI 36-2905
e. AF Form 422 -Notice of AF Members Qualification Status: With no restrictions and validated within 60 days prior to tour start date.  Form must indicate member does not have a deployment restriction (Code 31) or is undergoing an MEB (Code 37).  Working copy will not be accepted.  Upon final selection, you may need to provide an updated AF422 certified by the NGB/SG office.
f. vMPF RIP.  All pages including Total Active Federal Military Service (TAFMS)

h. Joint Credit Accounting and Reporting System (PCARS) from vMPF/MilPDS
i. 1095 Day Analysis:  A letter from Wing Budget/Comptroller stating number of days performed in past 1,460 days.  1095-day waivers will NOT be approved for a new PCS to USAFE.  They may be approved for a follow-on year on a case-by-case basis.  Additional information can be found at link in line g. above
